Hey there! It’s Lab1 here. We are a Digital Product Design studio from Gdansk, Poland (EU). If you feel like changing your lifestyle and moving to the seaside, we guarantee you won’t regret it (we’ll help with relocation if needed). However, if you want to work from wherever, no problem either - some of us work completely remotely. It's your choice.
Lab1 is a studio created by talented designers who prioritise quality. We don't do subpar work. We only engage in projects where the client consciously agrees to carry out the design process our way, including key stages like empathizing, identifying the right problems to be solved, research, ideation, prototyping and testing with users. So you can sleep peacefully, knowing that it will definitely work.
As a UX Designer at Lab1, you will work on applications used by thousands of users that have a real impact on everyday life. We know how ephemeral digital projects can be, which is why we mainly work where we can bring tangible value and see the product in action. Our clients are leaders in their industries: Circle K EV, Cognite, Rezolve, Dynatrace, VWS, AutoPay and Nuadu.
But let's get to the point. Work is looking for you :). We need you, together with our UI wizzard, to design products (ERP, CRM, mobile applications) for one of our key customers. Relax, not all at once. To do so, you should have the following competencies at your fingertips:
Analyzing and Mapping: Dive into the client's business processes and digital tools, mapping them as a step towards thoroughly understanding their inner workings. Identify areas for improvement, substantiating recommendations with research and best practices.
Client Collaboration: A sincere willingness and ability to collaborate effectively with clients, sometimes saying "NO" with tact and empathy. Possess the soft skill to balance advocating for optimal design solutions while recognizing and respecting business priorities—crafting solutions that satisfy the user while meeting the client’s goals. Running workshops should make you feel like you’re in your element.
Design Expertise: Create best-in-class design solutions and user experiences using Figma, ensuring they align with both user needs and project objectives.
Heuristic Evaluation: Conduct systematic reviews of products to uncover usability and customer experience challenges.
Lo-Fi Mockups and User Flows: Visualize ideas by creating lo-fi mockups and mapping user flows for stakeholder presentations and testing.
Collaboration with UI Designers: Work closely with a Senior UI Designer, who will finalize the UI and develop components, ensuring seamless handoffs and alignment.
Usability Testing: Arrange and conduct usability tests with real users, deriving actionable insights and iterating on designs until they solve the problem effectively and meet both client and user expectations.
Ownership and Organization: Be highly self-organized, capable of independently planning and prioritizing your work. Define your own roadmap to achieve project goals efficiently and proactively.
Interest in Design Systems: Have a genuine interest in design systems and experience in working with them.
Analytics Tools: Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, UsabilityHub, Hotjar, or Mixpanel is a bonus.
Project Management Tools: Experience working with JIRA to manage tasks and collaborate within agile or iterative workflows.
Soft Skills and Positive Attitude: A great sense of self-organization, a positive outlook on life, and faith that people are naturally okay :)
